Tain Walk 2008

On Sunday 28th Septembe 2008, Setanta once again walked the part of the famous Táin Trail. Having enjoyed a walk along the Trail with archaeologist Paul Gosling in 2003, this has become an annual event. Amazingly, in this extremely wet summer, the day was warm, and most importantly, dry. Once again, It was a wonderful experience and all the members enjoyed the exercise, the glorious scenery, the pint in PJs and the sing-song in the evening - despite the aches and pains in the muscles the next day.

Eilish Byrne is the daughter of Nora Byrne, one of the earliest members of Setanta. Born with spina bifida, Eilish has never allowed her disability to stop her from enjoying life to the fullest. A talented horsewoman, Eilish is currently qualifying for the Beijing Paralympics and is set to win a place on the team. However, she needs to raise €120,000 to get there. Pictured right, Pauline Adair and Bernie Connolly present Eilish with a cheque for €6,111.00 raised at a Setanta party night.
